STITCH – packaging

This second part of my year 12 project includes packaging design for STITCH-the eco friendly stapler.

The packaging must inform the audience of how the product works and its features (weight, materials, benefits etc). It should also reflect the ‘green’ approach of the stapler and be environmentally friendly itself.

Packaging applied on a stapler prototype

The final design is made from a single strip of paper with simple cuts and folds; no adhesive is required so the assembling process is simplified. When fully assembled, it is open on two sides and fits the contour of the object. Several tabs are fastened into slits, holding the stapler in place.

Graphics are kept simple and effective with the use of clean types, minimal colour palette, different line weights and scale. Clear diagram and illustrations help communicate the product’s features and functions as required by the design brief.

Carbon neutral, recycled paper were sourced to make this packaging, which enhances the environmental approach.
